While we all know the best place for an American Idol to stay in regards of getting any kind of votes is in the closet, one former contestent has decided to let his flame burn bright on the fifth season of RuPaul's Drag Race. While the finale for season 4 doesn't air until next Monday, Ru and company are currently accepting applications for the next season.
If you really think about it, besides Jacob from last season, Clay Aiken, Adam Lambert, Anwar Robinson, Mario Vasquez and possibly DeAndre Brackensick from this season, there aren't really many gay performers on AI you can think of (at least of the top of your head), especially when all of them were closeted when they were on the show.
And while in my opinion Adam Lambert would be perfect for a show like RuPaul's Drag Race (bitch got some fabulous cheekbones), the former AI alum who wants a place on Logo's only hit is none other than Danny Noriega.
For those who might not remember, he appeared on season 7 (David Cook's season), made it all the way to the semifinals, but was eliminated on the night when the judges chose the top 12 boys.
I actually forgot about Danny until I saw his picture, and then I immediately remembered that if no one else could see that he was a big queen, then they're about as blind and deaf as Helen Keller.
He was very flamboyant, hilarious and quite entertaining on his season, so personality-wise I think he would be perfect for RDR. My only thing is has he been doing drag for long, or is he looking at RDR as a jumpoff plan to launch him into being a drag queen? If that is the case, I know plenty of queens who are currently disgusted that so many of the younger queens are using a show like RDR as a gateway to success, instead of paying their dues at their local club like many before them. My thing is that if you have what it takes to be the next drag superstar whether you've been doing drag for six months or six years, if you have it then bring it!

Danny definitely has my vote, since his favorite musician is Freddie Mercury and he loves old horror movies, like Return of The Living Dead and Halloween. The five hopeful queens with the most votes will be announced on April 30th.
