Lady Gaga, who not only is up for six MTV Europe Music Awards in November, and also performed at the iHeartmusic Festival over the weekend, recently announced that she will be working on the follow-up to her third album Born This Way. On Friday when she called into Ryan Seacrest's radio show, she told the American Idol host:
“I’ve been working on that. I’ve been planning the next tour, which keeps me very excited and busy because I have lots of new ideas, and I know exactly how I want it to look.
While I will admit that Gaga did have some standout tracks on BTW, cohesively it was an uninspired mess. I feel she needs to stop looking to every mainstream artists 20 year back catalog, collaborate with some unknown songwriters and producers and come out with some music no one expects. But when you're not true to the world of dance and pop it might be hard for some people who are more Paula Cole than Madonna. My guess is she will pull a Fame Monster and release an EP of new songs, which will give you the choice of buying both albums or separately. Either way like I said earlier I hope the new tracks take her back to the fun pop of The Fame. Check out her performances of hits Poker Face, Edge of Glory, Bad Romance, Hair (which she dedicated to deceased bullied teen Jamey Rodemeyer) and Born This Way, as well as a surprise appearance from Sting (as they sang his hits King of Pain and Stand By Me) below...
