ROBYN SET TO RECORD FOLLOW-UP TO BODY TALK SERIES THIS JANUARY
After releasing three albums of material in one single year, Robyn will be heading back to the studio to work on the follow-up to her fantastic Body Talk trilogy. Here's what the Swedish electro-pop bombshell had to say to X Magazine about her her forthcoming album:
“I’m back wiriting in the studio in January, then touring the US, UK and Europe from February. It’s the end of the Body Talk album, but it’s nice to start working on something new.”
She continued: “Releasing albums in this way allows me to go back into the studio more often, and keep writing between records, which I haven’t been able to do before. And, hopefully, that way I can keep releasing shorter albums, but more regularly.”
I like this concept she has going especially in the singles-ridden society the music industry has become. We have Rihanna as the official singles queen, without any cohesive substance added to her albums as a whole so it's nice to see someone put actual work and creativity into their albums and not waiting around for two years of strenuous touring to work on new music. Body Talk was critically acclaimed not only by her music peers and critics, but fans as well. She may not have sold as many records as Lady Gaga, but Robyn's music is timeless. Expect to hear some new music from Robyn this summer.
