JASON DERULO WORKING WITH MADONNA ON NEW ALBUM

Jason DeRulo may not be well known yet to music buyers outside of his two hits “Whatcha Say”, and his recent hit "In My Head", but Madonna, who has an ear for choosing what's hot at the moment to guarantee herself a hit has chosen him to collaborate with on her upcoming album.

“I’m about to work with Madonna, and I’ve been watching her for years,” he tells Us Weekly. “I would love to be a part of another reinvention. She’s been able to reinvent herself time and time again. I’ll probably be part of that.”

Madonna, who was always known for taking underground music, styles and producers and bringing it into the mainstream has opted in recent years to play it safe by working with popular producers (like Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and The Neptunes for her last album, Hard Candy) is continuing with the same formula by not only working with DeRulo, but with go-to producer-of-the-moment David Guetta as well.

While writing some songs with Madonna, Jason is also writing his sophomore album which he hopes to have out by November. Shouldn't he be worrying about promoting his first album (which came out a few weeks ago) instead of thinking about a new one?

“Whenever I get a free second, I’m in the studio trying to make some new material. There’s always gonna be new stuff coming from me, maybe even a new album in November.”

I think some of Jason's music is cool, but to me his record as a whole sounds like typical generic pop music. I think Madonna could do better. iwish she would go back to the old days when she was always adventerous with working with producers everyone hasn't worked with. I feel ever since American Life flopped she's been playing it safe. While I did enjoy Confessions, I just wish there was a bit more edginess on Hard Candy instead of the tired beats we've come to expect from Timbaland. I think her best work on Candy came from Pharrell. Either way, i won't fully give my opinion until I hear sone new music from Madonna. Then I'll be able to judge.
