ANDRE 3000 SLAPPED WITH A LAWSUIT

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Andre 3000 became the latest rapper to be sued when a postal worker in Boston filed a $2 million dollar suit against the Outkast rapper and the Cartoon Network for copyright infringement. The postal worker, Timothy McGee, says that “characters, artwork, storylines and concepts” from Andre 3000’s cartoon series “Class of 3000″ were based on his ideas from a prevoius project called “The Music Factory.” McGee says he pitched the idea to the Cartoon Network executive Michael Lazzo back in 1997 (Andre 3000’s series debuted in 2006) where it was rejected. Both cartoons are set in Atlanta’s music scene and share similar characters so McGee’s attorney Jerrold Neeff wants compensation saying “We’ve requested $2 million in damages thus far. The rest remains to be seen.”
