Akon recently got caught lying so he could get some hood points. My question is why it took so long to come out?

Basically Akon was caught driving a stolen vehicle, but wasn�t charged with grand theft auto. A Federal Agent lays it out:
Ah, this is bullsh**, he [said]. "This guy is so phony. He's an arrogant SOB. I don't think he had any role besides [wanting] to drive a high-dollar vehicle. And I say this because we didn't link him to any other cars."
